New York City’s hottest bachelors are stirring up trouble in this fun, flirty Oxford Novel, as a love triangle forces a feisty beauty to choose between winning back Mr. Right or giving in to Mr. Wrong.
"Taylor Carr has it all—a sleek job in advertising, a stunning Manhattan apartment, and the perfect man to share it with: Bradley Calloway. Even after Bradley dumps her for a co-worker on move-in day, Taylor isn’t worried. She’ll get her man eventually. In the meantime, she needs a new roommate. Enter Nick Ballantine, career bartender, freelance writer—and longtime pain in Taylor’s ass. Sexy in a permanent five-o’clock-shadow kind of way, Nick knows how to push Taylor’s buttons, as if he could see right through to the real her.
Nick’s always trying to fix people, and nobody could use a good fixing more than Taylor. Sure, she’s gorgeous, with mesmerizing silver eyes, but it’s her vulnerability that kills him. Now that they’re shacking up together, the chemistry is out of control. Soon they’re putting every part of their two-bedroom apartment to good use. Then Taylor’s ex comes crawling back to her, and Nick figures she’ll jump at the chance to go back to her old life—unless he fights for the best thing that ever happened to him."
My Opinion
Both the characters were very unique, especially Taylor Carr because somehow i found myself very identified with her personality and her way of seeing the world, especially men, love and feelings in general. Being raised by her also tough aunt who taught her that love only makes us weaker make her felt like nobody loved her and because of that she had to go through different situation where she seek love in people that wasn't worth it like Bradley Calloway who thought it was a good idea to dump her exactly on the day that they were supposed to move in together leaving her in desperate need of a roommate and then it comes Nick Ballantine, the sexy freelance writer and bartender who would put her life up side down with his charm leading to a twist that any of them were expecting.
This book made me realize that sometimes we try to turn our vulnerable side into fake confidence with the purpose of hiding our feelings to the people around us so we look like nothing can affect us, never leaving our guard down just like Taylor did, with her attitude and her sarcastic comments. It was actually heartbreaking to see the way she genuinely thought that no one could love her and out there is so many people who think the same way, but sometimes we need to fight and face our demons so we can truly life our lives to the fullest with the help of those who worry and care about us .
If your like me and want to spend a pleasant time, I invite you to read this book and enjoy it as much as I did.
Let me know what you thought.
